Everything you need to know about Lana Del Rey’s new mystery album
By Amelie Da Costa
In April 2025 Lana Del Rey released two singles “Bluebird” and “Henry, come on” ahead of her 10th studio album which was set to be released on May 21, 2025 - but the release date has been delayed.
It has been revealed that she is working alongside Jack Antonoff, Luke Laird, Drew Erickson and Zach Dawes to make this album.
However, this isn’t the first time she’s worked alongside some of these creators, especially Zach Dawes.
From December 2016 to March 2017 she was in a small rock band with Dawes and produced an entire unreleased album, before parting ways due to individual schedules.
Three title changes and a hidden name
Her upcoming album itself has had three name changes since her initial announcement during the pre-Grammys event in January 2024, which was originally titled “Lasso”.
In November 2024 she changed the name to “The Right Person Will Stay” - then changed it again after the release of “Henry, Come On” but keeping the new name a secret.
Despite these changes to the album, she has released two lead singles for it on April 11 and April 18.
The first single “Henry, Come On” is a downtempo country song with a Western twist including primarily an acoustic guitar as the main melody.

The meaning behind ‘Bluebird’
Her second single “Bluebird” is a slow folk song with heartbreaking lyrics about a woman trapped in an abusive relationship.
Following the release of the second single, Del Rey took to her Instagram and explained what the song is about and what it means to her.
In her three-minute-long reel the singer said, “I started humming this chorus to myself with the words and the melody a long time ago, when I had been seeing someone for a while”.
Del Rey went on further to say “All of a sudden a bird smacked into the double pane window of the doors in my bedroom.”
The singer held the bird and sang the lyrics of “Bluebird”.
“That is not the first time a bird has been a little bit of a message to me. It's literally a song about a bird I was holding.”
What to expect from the album
The upcoming album has 13 original tracks to it which have not all been released yet.
The album is largely described as a country-inspired album with elements of Americana and Southern Gothic, which is a shift from her previous work.
Although it is still unknown when it will be released, fans have had mixed responses for this upcoming album, with some speculation about the album's theme and a general excitement about the genre shift.
