Radio 2 in the Park news: Def Leppard and Bryan Adams set to headline, line-up revealed

Radio 2 in the Park is a music festival that has been going on every year since 2011 and has had many huge names over the years performing at the show.

This year the festival will be held in Hylands Park in Chelmsford, Essex from Friday, September 5 to Sunday, September 7 and the lineup has been released ahead of the event. 

Bryan Adams and Def Leppard have been set to headline Radio 2 in the Park 2025 along with other artists featured in the lineup to also perform, writes Music News Blitz’s Amelie Da Costa.

A first Chelmsford performance for Bryan Adams 

Bryan Adams is a Canadian singer-songwriter and musician who came into the music industry in 1979 at the age of 19 when he signed with the record label A&M Records in Canada. 

He then released a self-titled debut album Byan Adams in 1980 and released by A&M Records.

He has since gone on to release 13 solo studio albums which mainly consist of rock, including some sub-genres like pop rock and arena rock. 

The artist is mainly known for his songs “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You” and “Summer of ‘69”. 

This will be the first time Adams performs in Chelmsford and he will headline the Saturday night.

Def Leppard to rock the stage 

Def Leppard is also set to headline at the event on Sunday night this year in Chelmsford. 

Def Leppard are an English rock band formed in Sheffield in 1977 but made their breakthrough in 1983 through their album Pyromania. 

Since the start of their career, they have gone on to release 12 studio albums which consist of hard rock, with elements of heavy metal and pop rock. 

They’re also known for their hit songs “Pour Some Sugar On Me” and “Rock of Ages”.

Pop stars will mix things up

Despite the headliners for the festival being mainly rock, there are also some other big names within the line-up.

Some other big names included are Jessie J, Ella Henderson and Sophie Ellis Bextor who are all known for their influence in pop music within the industry.

Jessie J and Ella Henderson will perform on the main stage on Saturday, while Sophie Ellis-Bextor will take to the main stage on Sunday. 

Tickets will be available on Ticketmaster on Wednesday June 4 with a starting price of £32 per ticket.
