BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge Month announce star-studded line-up

It’s that time of year again - where BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge hosts the stars of the current music industry for live performances and never-heard-before covers. What’s not to like?

The Live Lounge has become a staple of Radio 1 since its beginnings in 2006, and every September, a new batch of artists is announced for a month-long slate of performances.

Since 2021, the segment has been presented by Rickie Haywood-Williams, Charlie Hedges and Melvin Odoom, and the 2025 artists were revealed on their highly popular show on Monday.

But who exactly can we look forward to?

Music News Blitz writer Rhys Rogers has selected some of his personal standouts.

Monday 29 September - Olivia Dean

Kicking the month off with a bang is my personal favourite on the list - British popstar Olivia Dean, whose album The Art of Loving is set to release three days before her appearance. Fantastic timing!

Perhaps most well-known for her recent singles “Nice to Each Other” and “Man I Need”, Dean has shot to fame in recent months and is the first British female artist to have three Top 10 hits at the same time since Adele in 2021.

Wednesday 8 October - Pink Pantheress

London-based TikTok sensation Pink Pantheress will be attending the Live Lounge on 8 October, and this young ball of energy is sure to deliver a great performance.

Her approach to releasing mixtapes rather than albums sees her doing something unique - and if I don’t see her doing the ‘Illegal’ trend with Rickie, Charlie and Melvin I’ll be bitterly disappointed.

Friday 10 October - Robbie Williams

A set from this music industry veteran is certainly not to be missed.

From his on-and-off relationship with boyband Take That to a hugely successful solo career, Robbie Williams is no stranger to delivering powerful performances.

After his life story Better Man saw him immortalised as a monkey, I’m sure fans are delighted to see Williams return as the first performance in the Radio 1 Anthems Live Lounge to commemorate the new radio station on DAB+.

Monday 20 October - Lewis Capaldi

Following his surprise appearance at Glastonbury in June, Lewis Capaldi’s return to the industry has been welcomed by fans after his two-year hiatus to deal with his Tourette’s Syndrome in 2023.

He shot to fame in 2019 with songs like “Someone You Loved” and “Bruises”, and I hope that the Live Lounge performance features some of these heart-wrenching ballads, as well as his new single “Survive”.

Monday 3 November - Florence + The Machine

And finally, closing out this incredible month of performances will be the hugely popular band Florence + the Machine.

With hits like “Dog Days are Over”, “Shake It Out” and “You Got the Love”, fans can expect a stellar performance.

Their appearance will come three days after their sixth album release, Everybody Scream, meaning her set is bound to feature some new releases.

Of course, this is not all - you can find the full line-up of performances in the 2025 Live Lounge Month here.

And to hear the amazing live performances, you can tune into Radio 1 every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 12pm, as well as live on BBC Sounds or on demand on BBC iPlayer and YouTube.
