Is Phoebe Bridgers making a comeback?
The sad girl we all love and need has gone off-grid, but we’ve heard through the grapevine she might be making a return.
Music News Blitz writer Megan Rogers-Jones takes a deep dive into Phoebe Bridges’ past work, where she is now and whether she’s coming back.
History
Phoebe Bridgers released her debut solo album, Stranger in the Alps, in 2017, which instantly gained attention and included some of her best-known songs, such as “Funeral” and “Scott Street.”
She then went on to release a self-titled EP with Lucy Dacus and Julian Baker's band Boygenius.
Her second album, Punisher, was released in 2020 and solidified her as a major force in indie rock, blending emo-folk with chamber pop, usually using dark but humorous lyrics.
She went on to feature on SZA’s award-winning album SOS, Arlo Parks’ album My Soft Machine, and her original song featured in the Minions: The Rise of Gru soundtrack. She also released a Christmas cover album, So Much Wine, before reuniting with the boys.
Boygenius released their debut album, The Record, and their second EP, The Rest, in 2023 and was a huge success, with their album awarding them three Grammy Awards in 2024.
Since then, the band have been on hiatus, with Dacus and Baker still active online and releasing music, and are even a couple now (but that’s another story), but Bridges is nowhere to be seen.

Where is she now?
After the Grammys, she decided to take an extended break from the public eye and music for her mental health and wanted to take some well-deserved rest, deleting all her photos and follows from ‘Instagram’.
After 18 months of almost complete silence, with only a handful of sightings, she could be making her return.
And who have we heard this from? No one other than Phoebe's mum, Jamie Bridges.
In early January 2026, she had put up a Q&A on her Instagram story, asking her followers what their bold music assumptions were for the upcoming year.
One response was ‘Phoebe Bridges’ new album’, to which Mrs Bridges posted and included a photo of Phoebe.
Rolling Stone have also fed the fandom’s delusions after flagging this year as a likely return for the singer-songwriter, and Consequence included the unnamed and unconfirmed project as one of the most anticipated albums to come.
This was enough hope for fans to believe that this is the year we will get PB3.
