More than fearless: LE SSERAFIM flows into a new era

The five-member South Korean girl group has stepped into one of their biggest eras yet with the release of their second studio album, Pureflow Pt.1, on May 22, proving once again that the group is never afraid to reinvent themselves.

Following the introspective journey of their EASY, CRAZY and HOT trilogy, Pureflow Pt.1 finds the members embodying a renewed sense of confidence.

Instead of running from vulnerability, LE SSERAFIM celebrates it, reminding listeners that strength comes from acknowledging fear rather than pretending it doesn't exist.

The album expands beyond the group's signature pop sound, their musical identity getting laced with house, EDM, and Brazilian funk influences while keeping the energetic charisma that has become their trademark.

The album feels like the group's most playful release to date, writes Music News Blitz’s Victoria Bruwer.

‘Boompala’ takes centre stage

Although Pureflow Pt.1 offers plenty for listeners to unpack, one song has become the face of the era.

"Boompala" has dominated LE SSERAFIM's promotions, quickly becoming the album's headline track thanks to its energetic production, addictive hook and colourful concept.

Just when fans thought the promotions couldn't get any bigger, the group surprised everyone with an unexpected collaboration.

On July 3, a special version of "Boompala" with Indian superstar Guru Randhawa was released, creating a crossover that no one saw coming.

The collaboration, as Randhawa has commented on LE SSERAFIM’s Instagram as “Punjabi Pop x K-Pop taking over the world,” has become a refreshing cultural exchange that has sparked excitement across both fan communities.

Social media has been flooded with reactions celebrating the collaboration, with many praising the unexpected pairing for bringing two vibrant music scenes together in such a natural way.

Three powerhouse groups, one viral hit

LE SSERAFIM also made headlines in June through one of the year's most ambitious collaborations.

Released on June 12, "Iconic by Mistake" united LE SSERAFIM with fellow HYBE girl group ILLIT and global girl group KATSEYE.

The collaboration instantly became one of the internet's biggest talking points, with fans obsessed with the lyrics to the choreography and the overall chemistry between three iconic girl groups creating an iconic song.

The song has continued to gain momentum, even reaching No.38 on the Billboard Hot 100, further cementing its status as one of the breakout collaborations of the year.

For many fans, "Iconic by Mistake" perfectly captures the confidence, playful attitude and catchy energy that defines this new generation of girl groups.

A world tour with history in the making

As exciting as the new music has been, LE SSERAFIM's schedule is only getting busier.

The group is preparing to launch their second international tour, Pureflow, beginning with two concerts in Incheon before travelling across Japan.

Between stops in Shizuoka and Miyagi, LE SSERAFIM will also make their debut at Summer Sonic 2026, performing in Osaka on August 14 before taking the stage in Tokyo two days later.

And it doesn't stop there.

LE SSERAFIM will make an appearance at BlizzCon on September 13 in California ahead of their tour continuing in North America.

And one week after this, the group will just happen to casually make history once again by becoming the first K-pop girl group ever to perform at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas!

The excitement continues into November, when LE SSERAFIM will finally embark on their first stand-alone European tour.

Fans in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Berlin will each get the opportunity to experience the group's high-energy performances in person as Pureflow reaches audiences across Europe.

Fearless, fun and only getting stronger

We all know and admire the LE SSERAFIM members for their sweet and bubbly personalities and how they have always carried themselves.

Their evolution isn't simply about experimenting with new genres or chasing bigger stages.

It's about embracing who they are.

Pureflow Pt.1. has songs that shift from their usual confidence to themes of uncertainty, growth, and vulnerability. It feels more authentic.

The girls have evolved without losing the warmth, expressing their humour while still being honest, which is an infectious confidence within itself that makes them so easy to root for.

With a chart-climbing collaboration, a genre-bending album, an unexpected Punjabi crossover and one of their biggest international tours yet, Pureflow is shaping up to be much more than just another comeback.
