Music news: A new era for Blossoms with new single ‘Joke About Divorce’
This is the first bit of music we are hearing from Blossoms since their album Gary in 2024. Should fans anticipate more to come?

Blossoms have had four number one albums, with their recent one being Gary.
Frontman Tom Ogden stated that “during every argument, no matter how big or small, there's always that moment where humour could completely disarm you both and diffuse the whole thing”, and this inspired the track.
He went on to say on NME: “On this occasion, I thought joking about divorce would do exactly that… I just got the timing completely wrong.
“Instead, it made things worse, and that moment ended up immortalised in a three-and-a-half-minute pop song.”
Rick Astley appearance
The music video is a playful piece directed and edited by Ogden himself, and the video even features Rick Astley on the TV.
The band uses the beat of the song really cleverly, as they all move to it during the last chorus.
The set up of the video includes a bright pink room, with the band wearing the same coordinated suits.
The infamous music video Gary is based on a true story and very different to Joking About Divorce, and features Rick Astley once again.

Headline tour
They have just completed a headline tour and been announced for a few UK festivals this summer – Neighbourhood Weekender and Tramlines.
The summer of 2025 was a stacked couple months for Blossoms, including Truck festival in Oxfordshire - where I got to see them!
Their music vibe is brilliant and there's no wonder that they have gained just over one million monthly listeners on Spotify – with every track and record being a hit.
Fans on TikTok and Instagram are excited about the future of Blossoms, with hundreds of users expressing their love for the new single.
This is a new era for Blossoms – they expressed their intention to stand out from the crowd and with this new track, they are doing exactly that.
“It does feel like we've really stepped it up again, it's important because we don't want to drift off into the abyss like other bands do,” said Ogden.
