Music News Blitz’s Mic Drop podcast kicks off with a Taylor Swift vs Ariana Grande debate
Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande are two of the most talked about artists in the music industry and their fan bases have been debating for years over who is better than the other.
Taylor Swift fans argue she is one of the best lyricists of all time and Ariana Grande fans argue she is the best vocalist of all time.
Both artists are award-winning and chart-topping successes and it can be quite difficult to decipher who truly is the best.
The Mic Drop series
In the first episode of The Mic Drop Podcast, hosts Amelie Da Costa and Maddie Newton discuss their top three favourite songs of both these artists and debate why they think one is better than the other.
Songs from fan favourite albums such as “Lover” and “Thank U, Next” are mentioned along with some hidden gems with an in-depth discussion about the meaning behind each song.
The Grande songs mentioned in the episode are “ghostin” from Thank, U Next, “get well soon” from Sweetener and “imperfect for you” from Eternal Sunshine.
As well as Swift's songs “Cruel Summer” from Lover, “You Are In Love” from 1989 and “cowboy like me” from evermore.
These songs were ranked in order which stirred the debate more and enabled further discussion about favourite lyrics and why.
Both hosts touch on how many streams each song has and where it peaked in the charts to back up the debate.
The final call was made by the end of the episode on what songs out of all six made the top three and which artist won the debate.
