Music news: ‘Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally' – How does Harry Styles nail it every time?

Harry Styles has dominated the start of 2026, finally releasing Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally, after four years in the making.

He made a comeback to social media in January by announcing the new album, followed by announcing a brand new hit single, 'Aperture', a couple of days later, and 48 hours after that, a massive world tour was announced.

This felt like the best comeback fans have been waiting for, writes Music News Blitz’s Bella Ford.

‘Aperture’

His release of ‘Aperture’ set the tone for the whole album; it was a great lead single as it gave fans a glimpse into the rest of the record.

The word Aperture means a camera lens opening, which lets the light in, representing vulnerability and allowing new experiences in, which Styles is trying to communicate with the fans throughout.

The sound of Styles’ new music is noticeably different from his past music, with fans saying that Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally is more for the ‘real fans’ as they notice that the lyrical writing is similar to the band One Direction, which obviously he was part of for five years.

Interview with Zane Lowe

He sat down with Zane Lowe for Apple Music to discuss the record.

He mentioned that he felt that living in Rome and Berlin had a massive impact, where the nightlife especially inspired him.

Fans are commenting that Harry Styles seems so happy, as he told Lowe in the interview that he was allowing himself to be his most honest version of himself yet.

Styles added, “It was like, what music do I have to make for me to be on stage feeling like I'm in the middle of the dance floor?”

An album made for dance

Throughout all of his eras, he wanted to make an album that people would dance to, but with the lyrics also still being very personal to him.

And this is exactly what he has done.

The song American Girls highlights that he watched his friends get married, and he realised that “there is just a magic when you find the right person you want to be with."

He added that “it's quite a lonely song in a lot of ways”.

“One night only” show

He also did a ‘One night only’ at the Coop Arena in Manchester, where it was only £20 a ticket to see Mr Styles perform the entire album.

You had to sign up to get tickets in a ballot and were contacted if you got them.

The show was recorded and put on Netflix for fans to enjoy at home.

11.5 million fans signed up for presale for the 30-night stint at Madison Square Garden; this was the highest ever volume for an artist presale.

With fans planning to fly all over the world to see him live, the controversy is that Harry is only doing seven cities worldwide; fans were getting desperate.

The album was a chance for Harry Styles to fall in love with music all over again; it was an attempt to replicate the dancefloor.

He is free, he is happy and his fans can join him on that dancefloor!
