New music roundup: Justin Bieber, Jackboys, Bien and Burna Boy drop fresh music

It’s been a busy month in music, with big names dropping new tracks and projects that span genres and moods - from Burna Boy’s fiery new album to Justin Bieber’s surprise return to the spotlight.

From vulnerability to bravado, this month’s new releases offer something for every mood, and Music News Blitz’s Nicole Powell takes us through just some of the best releases.

Justin Bieber - ‘SWAG’

Justin Bieber surprised fans with Swag, his seventh studio album, arriving out of nowhere on July 11 via Def Jam.

21 tracks deep and featuring guests like Gunna, Lil B and Sexyy Red, Swag is an introspective, genre-blending statement that sees Bieber trading pop polish for rawer R&B and funk sounds.

Jackboys & Travis Scott - ‘JACKBOYS 2’

Over in hip-hop, Travis Scott and the JackBoys dropped JackBoys 2, the long-awaited follow-up to their 2019 project. It’s high-energy, moody, and packed with features.

The production is darker, more layered, and while it doesn’t break new ground, it keeps fans fed with classic Travis ad-libs and chaotic group synergy.

Bien - ‘All My Enemies Are Suffering’

Kenyan star Bien also released a new solo project, “All My Enemies Are Suffering”.

It’s smooth and self-assured, filled with clever lyrics and layered vocals that show his growth as a solo act.

The title is cheeky, but the music is more nuanced - a fusion of Afro-pop, soul, and something uniquely his.

Burna Boy - ‘No Sign of Weakness’

Grammy-winning Nigerian giant Burna Boy returns with his eighth album, No Sign of Weakness, released Friday, July 11.

This album leans into a tough, guarded persona, mixing Afrobeats with rock, house, and country, and enlisting guests like Mick Jagger, Stromae and Travis Scott.
