Tyla ignites summer with ‘WWP,’ a four-track party in under 12 minutes

Tyla dropped an anthem when she dropped her EP, WWP (We Wanna Party).

Released Friday, July 25, it arrives as the perfect summer playlist, blending Pop, R&B, Amapiano and Afrobeats.

Two fan favourites, two new bangers

The package brings together two high-impact lead singles - “Bliss” and “Is It” - with two fresh offerings.

The opener, “Dynamite,” leans into a classic Afrobeats vibe, driven by syncopated rhythms, warm basslines, and clean guitar licks that echo through the mix.

Wizkid’s silky vocals slide effortlessly alongside Tyla’s, making it a standout moment of cross-continental chemistry.

Track two, “Mr. Media,” is a sassy, pop-Afrobeats flex, as Tyla reclaims her narrative and basks in confidence.

Meanwhile, “Bliss” had been on repeat since May, entering major ad campaigns like Coca-Cola’s “Road Trip.”

“Is It”, which dropped early July, had already climbed the South African charts and flirted with the UK Top 100.

A 2022 demo reborn to revive summer

While previewing tracks for fans at a London listening session, Tyla told Rolling Stone that she’d gone digging through old demos once she decided a mixtape was the move.

That’s when she stumbled back on “Dynamite,” a track she’d started with Wizkid back in 2022. “And it was still good, like after three years! I just told him, ‘Let’s finish it because I want to drop it.”

From the crisp production to the carefree energy, WWP is breezy, bold, and addictive. It’s exactly what summer needed.
