Victoria Monét’s moment: Chart-topping hits, award wins, and building an empire

Victoria Monét isn’t just riding the wave - she’s creating the tsunami.

In the past year, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter has gone from behind-the-scenes hitmaker to full-blown superstar, racking up chart-topping singles, major award wins, and even branching into children’s literature.

The momentum is unmistakable: her album JAGUAR II swept the 2024 Grammys (winning Best R\&B Album and Best Engineered Album).

Her singles “On My Mama” and “SOS (Sex on Sight)” have blasted to No. 1 on Billboard airplay charts.

Smash hits and chart takeovers

Monét’s chart success has been nothing short of spectacular.  In early 2024, her breakout single “On My Mama” climbed to No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R\&B Airplay chart - her first-ever chart-topper - and also led multiple R\&B/hip-hop radio formats.

By the end of 2024, she had another hit to celebrate.  “SOS (Sex on Sight),” a steamy duet with R\&B legend Usher from the deluxe edition of JAGUAR II, shot straight to No. 1 on the Adult R\&B Airplay chart in early 2025.

Behind those hits is the music.

JAGUAR II, Monét’s 2023 debut album, earned raves for its blend of dreamy R&B and ’00s pop energy, and helped fuel her growing fanbase.

To the delight of many, she expanded the project.

On October 4, 2024, she dropped *JAGUAR II: Deluxe*, adding ten new tracks and heavyweight collaborators (including Thundercat and Bryson Tiller) to the album’s 11 originals.

Monét’s music taps nostalgia and innovation alike, channelling early-’00s R&B in “On My Mama” while also pushing forward.

Her visuals have also become must-see events.

Legacy in motion

All told, Victoria Monét is proving to be a renaissance star for our moment.

She’s flying high on the charts, commanding respect on award stages, and branching into new creative fronts - all while staying grounded in family and purpose.

Her public image has shifted dramatically from the early days when she was best known as Ariana Grande’s songwriting partner.  Now she’s front and centre, unabashedly herself.
