Is AG8 coming this summer? Everything we know so far about Ariana Grande’s eighth studio album
Maybe we’re delusional and reading into things too much, but Arianators, AG8 may be coming this summer!
Over the last few weeks, Ariana Grande has been teasing new music on social media, sharing cryptic posts and messages that have only added to the speculation.
Does the end of Wicked mean Ariana is back?
Ariana Grande has dedicated the last few years to Wicked, in which she played her dream role, Glinda the Good Witch.
While it has been exciting to see her return to acting, her music career had taken a back seat for much of that time.
She did drop eternal sunshine in 2024, and eternal sunshine: brighter days ahead in 2025, but her focus was largely on filming and promoting the Wicked movies.
But with the Wicked era coming to an end following the release of Wicked: For Good in late 2025, Grande can focus on music again.
When she showed up to the 2026 Golden Globes red carpet with her signature brown ponytail and a fresh tan, it was hard not to get excited.
Cryptic messages from the star
On April 8, she took to Instagram, posting pictures from a recording studio, suggesting that the pop star was well and truly defrosting.
The post had nine pictures, eight of which were of her in the studio, and the ninth was a soft, green-tinted floral artwork, with delicate pressed flowers.
Around the same time, Ariana left a message on her fan hotline, joking. “We’re counting down the 8s...oops, I mean the days.”
That has to mean something, right?
Posting EIGHT studio photos on April 8, talking about “8s” - it all feels a little too deliberate to ignore.

What else do we know?
According to reports, AG8 could arrive in the summer. With all the references to the number eight, some fans believe an August release could be on the cards.
Sources told TMZ that “she’s super excited and posted pics of herself in the studio to tease the new project.”
Grande is also set to be on her eternal sunshine tour this summer. If the rumours are true, there is a chance she could perform some of her new material live.
For now, neither Grande nor her label has officially confirmed anything.
Earlier this year, speaking to Vogue Japan, she opened up about her approach to music going forward.
“Balance is the goal for the next 15 years,” she said. “I don't think they will look like the previous fifteen years. I think there will be more balance.”
“I’m like, ‘Wow, won’t it be so amazing to live life and then have that feed my art even more?’”
For now, fans will just have to keep decoding the clues.
